I’d like to begin by first saying R.I.P. To the victims who were killed in the CT school shooting.
We have a major gun problem in the United States. To many guns in the U.S is not the problem.
We must understand that gun control is not the issue. We need stop using that as the scape goat of every firearm tragedy. People kill people. No matter what the weapon is. Criminals will always be criminals. If they want to get guns THEY WILL they are CRIMINALS they don’t follow government laws anyway.

Making guns illegal and making them much harder for law abiding citizens to obtain to defend themselves will only PUT MORE INNOCENT LAW ABIDING CITIZENS IN DANGER. This shooting took place in a school where guns are BANNED. This is illogical. The role of the teacher is to not only teach children but also protect them. When the children are in their custody they are obligated to ensure their safety. This would have never happened if the teachers had a means of defending students until police Arrive.

(To the people who say that’s a bad idea I’ll give you a scenario; which sounds worse? Having your kids without your protection under the protection of defenseless teachers who are depending on police to show up within the nick of time to protect your kids in the middle of a firefight? Or armed teachers with the appropriate handgun training and discipline to defend your kids and do everything they can to keep the kids and themselves safe until the police show up and take control of the situation? After all teachers are required to know some forms of first aid, why not personal & classroom defense?)

Teachers should be equipped with handguns that can only fire under the action of the teacher.
(i.e. Hand print scan encoded handguns that need your fingerprints in order for them to be fired. To prevent students from firing the handgun without finger print authorization [And yes this kind of technology does exist and its existed for a very long time.])

We have a second amendment right to defend ourselves for a reason. The forefathers of this country knew that the right to defend yourself is tremendously important. Unfortunately we’ve become domesticated like house cats. We get our food, money, housing and even our personal self-defense from the government. You don’t have the right to defend yourselves; but criminals do.

With or without the constitution. Gun control just makes the jobs of criminals much easier. Especially if they know they can shoot up an entire public area, (i.e movie theater, church, mall, etc.) with a minimal risk of being shot because currently not many people carry weapons or consider self defense to be significant. People count on the fact that the men in blue will come in save them so carrying a gun is unnecessary because guns are bad and only bad people and police should have the ability to use them. The sad reality however is by the time Police support arrives it may be to late. You may probably be dead already and significant casualties would have already occurred by the time police show up because no one was able to fight back against the attacker.

We live in a sick world, and citizens need to be more properly informed, armed and educated about the US Constitution, firearms, personal self defense and proper firearm discipline. Crooks will think twice about killing innocents on mass if everyone has a means of defending themselves. and preventing a tragedy.

Should we ban all knives now because knifes can be used to stab people? We ban guns people will get knives. People ban knives, and they’ll get bats, ban bats they’ll get shovels, ban shovels and they’ll use rocks for murder. Rocks get banned and we will use our BRAINS to kill. its the intent of the person who wants to kill. Not the weapon. Background checks, permits, restrictions etc, does nothing to protect citizens from guns. It just makes them more vulnerable by making weapons harder to obtain for upstanding citizens. Crooks don’t follow the rules.

Crooks won’t apply for a permit.
Crooks won’t buy guns legally from legal gun shops.

Why would a CRIMINAL buy a gun and obtain a permit the difficult tedious & legal way if he wanted to commit a crime if he can just go to the nearest urban city and buy one from some random gang member who doesn’t care about the customers personal motives with the handgun and he may never see the customer ever again.
